The unique all-in-one API for seamless access to software encoding integrates Intel Quick Sync Video, NVENC hardware encoding, as well as Hybrid GPU Accelerated Encoding on NVIDIA RTX graphics engines*, to meet video compression requirements.
Support for 8- and 10-bit 4:2:0 and 4:2:2 profiles with HDR-10 or HLG in single- or 2-pass encoding can be optionally augmented with SABET™, allowing simultaneous creation of multiple ABR layers in a single encoder instance.
The MainConcept HEVC/H.265 Decoder allows 8K120p real-time playback up to 10-bit 4:4:4 progressive and interlaced streams on dedicated systems.
It supports the new professional Canon XF-HEVC format, packaging 4:2:2 10-bit HEVC/H.265 into an MXF container, enabling existing workflows to support the same metadata as with current AVC / H.264-based broadcast formats.
To optimize processing power and free-up compute resources on supported lower-end systems, the decoder offers a DXVA option to utilize GPU power for accelerated HEVC/H.265 playback on Windows.
The decoder includes HDR processing algorithms that allow real-time PQ / HDR-10 to HLG, HLG to PQ / HDR-10 and PQ / HDR-10 to SDR conversion*.

High Dynamic Range (HDR) Processing & Conversion*
Signaling SMPTE 2084 based HDR-10 including SMPTE 2086 mastering display metadata and MaxFALL, MaxCLL. HLG transfer characteristics are signaled in accordance with ITU-R BT.2100-1. The decoder also offers several algorithms that enable real-time PQ / HDR-10 to HLG, HLG to PQ / HDR-10 and PQ / HDR-10 to SDR conversion.

Intel® Quick Sync Video hardware encoding is available within the MainConcept API as an easy on/off feature. By leveraging Intel Quick Sync hardware with MainConcept HEVC Encoding SDK, CPU load is reduced significantly during video processing.

NVENC hardware-based HEVC video encoding, available with NVIDIA Pascal GPUs and later, is seamlessly integrated into the MainConcept HEVC Encoder SDK with a simple API option. This enables HEVC encoding with a small CPU footprint while improving processing speed or increasing the number of live channels per server. MainConcept HEVC Encoder SDK with NVIDIA NVENC is also supported in select cloud compute platforms.
