Whether your content originates in SDR or HDR, the SDK generates the metadata needed to deliver an improved viewing experience on HDR displays while keeping legacy SDR devices fully supported — all in real time, with a low CPU footprint.

Single-Layer HDR, Fully Compatible

Advanced HDR by Technicolor uses a single-layer approach: rather than encoding and distributing separate HDR and SDR streams, it embeds HDR metadata into a standard video stream. Downstream devices use that metadata to render the best picture their display supports. The result is efficient bandwidth usage, simplified live production, and consistent HDR quality across broadcast, cable, and streaming distribution.

MainConcept SL-HDR Conversion SDK supports the full Advanced HDR by Technicolor toolset

SL-ITM

Computes SL-HDR1 metadata from an SDR BT.709 source (8-bit or 10-bit), enabling HDR-capable displays to reconstruct an enhanced image from existing SDR content.

SL-HDR1

Generates metadata from HDR BT.2100 PQ or HLG source content for backward-compatible delivery to both HDR and SDR displays.

SL-HDR2

Produces HDR metadata optimized for HDR-to-HDR delivery, preserving the full dynamic range of the source for capable displays.
