This set of software decoders provides professional high-quality playback for a variety of media streams. Users benefit from playback of any file through a single media player supporting DirectShow, such as Windows® Media Player, or MainConcept™ Show Case, the proprietary player solution that uses the MainConcept filters exclusively.

In the multimedia world of your home entertainment PC, you work with numerous different video formats, you all want to play back with a single player. There are AVCHD, DVD, Blu-ray, XDCAM, Sony PSP, Apple iPod, DVB-S2 and many more media streams for different aims. And often, you need different player tools for watching them. Wouldn’t it be great to use one tool for decoding for such streams, such as the Windows Media Player that comes with every Microsoft Windows operating system, or with MainConcept Show¬Case? For that reason, we offer the new Decoder Packs that allow you to make use of the renowned MainConcept Decoders, and are compliant with every software media player supporting DirectShow.

Depending on the installed MainConcept Decoder Pack, your video player is automati¬cally enhanced by adding the capability of playing back on of the above mentioned for¬mats. After installing our powerful decoder, the Windows Media Player, MainConcept ShowCase and similar DirectShow players are able to play back the corresponding streams, regardless whether they are available as elementary or muxed streams, in real-time using the powerful MainConcept DirectShow filters. Of course, the Decoder Packs come with the corresponding audio decoder and demuxer filters.

The MainConcept Decoder Packs come with a powerful tool called MeritMe! It enables you to change the merit of all installed MainConcept Video and Audio Decoder as well as Demultiplexer DirectShow filters that are installed on your system. The aim of it is to increase the priorities of the filters that should be used to play back a file in the Media Player.
