Aachen, Germany – September 05, 2007 – MainConcept, the world’s leading provider of audio and video codecs and software development kits to the broadcast, film, and consumer markets today announced that it will show a technology demonstration of its new SDK supporting the upcoming Audio Video coding Standard (AVS) during ibc 2007 in Amsterdam.
AVS is a non-proprietary open standard for delivering broadcast content up to HD resolution, and broadband video networking in the mainland China market. The AVS standard is highly optimized for the Chinese market, offering a good balance between video/audio qualities and encoding/decoding efficiency. The reduced complexity of AVS ultimately leads to low cost video/audio encoding/decoding products and solutions. MainConcept is among the first commercial companies to support this important technology for the Chinese market and will follow up with an AVS mobile solution in the near future.
