MainConcept won the “Third Annual MSU MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 Video Codecs Comparison” of the MSU Video Group

Aachen, Germany and Tomsk, Russia - December, 2006 - The goal of the comparison is a comparative evaluation of the quality of new H.264 codecs using objective metrics. The complete test consisted of three types of application, which strongly differ by resolution, bitrates and encoding speed requirements: Videoconferences, Movies and HDTV.

The codecs were scored in the following order:
1. MainConcept
2. x264
3. VSS
4. DivX (MPEG-4 ASP)
5. Intel H.264
