The MainConcept H.264/AVC Acceleration SDK is interesting for companies who want to offload encoding acceleration to their own hardware platforms, typically chip manufacturers or semiconductor companies developing software programmable processors.
The main advantage of the H.264/AVC Acceleration SDK is its ease of use! Simply install the MainConcept Acceleration Encoder DLLs that come together with your hardware board that supports this feature. If this environment is available on the system, you have the opportunity to make use of hardware encoding acceleration for H.264/AVC. So the customer provides the hardware and its functionalities, and MainConcept provides the necessary Acceleration Encoder to speed-up the workflow.
The H.264/AVC Acceleration SDK enables developers to accelerate certain components of the MainConcept H.264/AVC (Advanced Video Coding) video codec with the use of a hardware acceleration card which significantly speeds up the encoding process. Processor intensive features like Motion Search, Motion Prediction, Entropy Coding, Deblocking and CABAC can now be offloaded to acceleration chips to speed up the encoding process.
The H.264/AVC Acceleration SDK includes the MainConcept Low Level H.264 software SDK, which offers fast encoding and decoding speed, professional quality and full support of all the standard’s levels and profiles. It can also be used as an add-on for existing applications which already use the MainConcept H.264/AVC SDK. Plug in an acceleration board supporting the MainConcept H.264/AVC Acceleration SDK and these applications will automatically take advantage of highest performance.
