Reference Engine is the first solution of the new MainConcept Reference Platform product portfolio for powerful transcoding in almost all professional and broadcast production environments.

Reference Engine is a ready-to-use commandline based transcoding solution for workflow automation within your in-house production environment. The file based transcoding engine can be installed on a server to build the bridge between different systems and manage your media in a convenient way.

Using the powerful commandline interface allows the customer to create and submit jobs as well as complete workflows, including complete projects and batch processing. You can create as many additional presets as needed by using the MainConcept Reference application. They can be shared and used within the Reference Engine. You can even create and edit XML based transcoding presets and use them in other products from the Reference Platform portfolio.

Reference Engine will perfectly fit into your existing transcoding workflows. Simply configure the encoders by using predefined profiles, and the engine takes care of the rest. The flexible and automated tools works as simple as that: Input File -> Transcoding Preset -> Output File.
