Many people believe that the DV editing process does not result in any video quality loss. Actually, there is the potential for loss during editing (for example, when titles or transitions are added). The MainConcept DV Codec is widely recognized as offering the best quality and rendering speed. It is compatible with every program which supports standard Video for Windows codecs. The MainConcept DV Codec features support for multiprocessing, support for Intel® Hyper Threading Technology, as well as many other new features. Version 2.4.16 now includes special high-quality 4:1:1-color-resampling, the PAL/NTSC detection has been changed, so that artifacts are removed in some videos, and various other bugfixes.

To use the DV Codec, you'll need to make sure that your computer system meets at least these minimum requirements:

Operating systems:
Microsoft® Windows® 2000, XP (we recommend to install always the current Service Pack for the used operating system, e. g. for Windows® 2000 it's Service Pack 4 right now), Microsoft® DirectX 9.0®

Attention:
Before you start to install the new version of the DV Codec, please uninstall the current one. Additionally, make sure that no other MainConcept program is running during uninstallation or installation.
